About this calculation

The Year pillar changes at Lichun (Start of Spring) and the Month pillar at each solar term (Xiaohan, Lichun, Jingzhe … Daxue). Solar-term times come from an astronomical table for 1900–2100, checked to agree within ±1 minute with Japan's National Astronomical Observatory.

The Day pillar changes at midnight; for 23:00–23:59 the hour stem is taken from the next day's stem (late Zi hour). Only the main hidden stem is shown, and no local-mean-time (longitude) correction is applied. Some schools handle these points differently, which can change the result.

Ten Gods, Twelve Stages and void branches are calculated mechanically from the chart; the readings are fixed texts. For entertainment only.
